R3 | WHOLE HOUSE REMODEL

This 1990 production home initially suffered from an awkward layout, outdated finishes, and deferred maintenance issues requiring significant attention. Our team devised a comprehensive plan to address these maintenance repairs while adding over a thousand square feet of usable, modern space, perfect for social gatherings. The second-story addition enabled the relocation of the primary suite and laundry upstairs, creating ample space on the first floor for an expansive family room that seamlessly connects to the porch, as well as an enlarged kitchen featuring a walk-in scullery. The original cramped front stairs were removed and repositioned to the center of the home, allowing for the creation of a mudroom and an interior connection to the basement. The new central staircase became the home's primary circulation point and was designed as a striking focal feature. It traverses the vaulted space in white oak with sleek black steel balusters, supported by vertical wooden slats open to the basement stairs. Beyond the addition portion, the home underwent a complete design and finish overhaul. This included new windows, siding, remodeled bathrooms, kitchen, and screened porch. The result is a modern, livable, and inspiring interior that transforms the house into a welcoming and functional space.
